When will Grades2Go™ be released?
We are projecting a April 2010 release. Register with us to be notified by email and to receive a discount coupon!
Once the product is released, will free demo versions be available?
Special demo versions will be unnecessary because Grades2Go™ will be freely downloadable and almost entirely functional without an Activation Code. A number of key elements (students, tasks, etc.) will be severely limited until a Code is purchased, but you will be able to get a full Grades2Go™ experience.
Grades2Go™ is also pre-loaded with Sample Teacher at Anyplace High School as a hypothetical teacher and school. Dummy data is present for the school, teacher, sections, students, tasks and grades, and serves as a convenient sandbox in which to experiment with all the features of Grades2Go™ without affecting your real data. You can switch to Sample Teacher at any time, even after full activation.
Can Grades2Go™ Desktop work without a smartphone/PDA and Grades2Go™ Mobile?
Absolutely, although a mobile device extends almost all desktop power to your pocket or purse. Now you can enter or examine grades on the spot, 24/7, without your desktop or an internet connection!
Can Grades2Go™ Mobile (PalmOS) work without Grades2Go™ Desktop?
No. Desktop is necessary to maintain the primary databases and to synchronize data with the mobile device.
Will Grades2Go™ Mobile Companion be available for platforms besides PalmOS?
Yes. Google Android, Palm WebOS, and Apple iPhone versions are planned.
Will I have to keep buying software upgrades?
Mindspark is committed to giving you great value at an affordable price. When you buy an Activation Code, you’ll be entitled to all new updates free of charge for the duration of the Code. This includes new versions while your Code is active. However, should you change to a different smartphone platform which Mindspark supports, you will be required to purchase a new Mobile app with a new Code.
What happens when my Activation Code expires? Will I lose access to my data?
If a Code expires, your ability to view existing data and issue reports will be unaffected. No data will be lost. However, you will no longer be able to add new data or edit existing data. As soon as you purchase and enter a new Activation Code, full operation will resume.
Can Grades2Go™ interface with a school-based server?
Yes. Grades2Go™ school databases and student databases are usable by all Grades2Go™ users at the same school, so as soon as they are created once, they can be shared with other users - either by email, or hosted on a school server. If server hosted, Grades2Go™ will check these databases and download updates each time it is started. Server hosting also makes it possible to upload teacher-edited student data (certain info and activity logs). Contact support@mindsparkinc.com for details on server-based database hosting.
